| El Cortijo del Pino takes its name from the gargantuan Aleppo pine that overhangs the farmhouse. It marks the history of the house – the many years that have passed, and the many to come. The building is sober, breathing innate aristocracy. The sandy tones of the property change with each passing hour. This fascinating game of light must have been what attracted the artist and his wife, who converted this old farmhouse into a lovely country retreat. |

| El Cortijo del Pino sits high on a hill above the white village Albuñuelas. The views from the wide terrace in front of the farmhouse go over the surrounding groves of oranges and lemons, almonds and olives, to the lovely distant village in the valley below and to the pine-covered mountains beyond. This is a lovely sitting area, cool and tranquil under the shade of the ancient pine tree. |

For those who look for the authentic Spain, there is a lot to explore. The most famous is the Alhambra in Granada, a beautiful example of the magic Moorish architecture. The fairytale gardens, carefully designed, with many waterworks, make you feel to have landed in the fairytale of 1001 Night. Near Granada you find to the highest but one mountain ridge of Europe: Sierra Nevada. Enabling you to go skiing in the morning, and relax on the beach the next hour. Renowned is also the Alpujarras, located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada. A breathtaking region jam-packed with white villages, built in typical Berber architecture, in the many lovely valleys and on the terraces. This is where the Mores went, after they had been expelled from Granada in 1500. A truly fascinating area, steeped with history. |
