Finca Serena
Perched on a hill, just outside Gaucin, Finca Serena offers a very private retreat. The views from its terraces and from the pool are breathtaking.  Its location in the Gaucin area gives ample opportunity to explore the many interesting cultural sites and famous Natural Parks in the area. A great place to relax and enjoy the wonderful countryside.

Finca Serena is an utterly comfortable country house on a 30.000 m2 large finca (farm). The location and size of the land guarantee total privacy.

Amazing views are opening to all sides: nearby to the garden, into the lovely valley around the house, and then into the far distance, where the Riff mountains of Africa border the deep blue Mediterranean sea.

The property has many lovely terraces, both shaded and sunny, to serve your needs depending upon the season and time.

The terraced garden around the house has palm trees, fragrant herbs, Mediterranean shrubs and flowering plants.

The old farmland surrounding the garden has olive, fig and pine trees and even some cork oaks.

The estate has been carefully designed. The house is a mixture of modern architecture with warm authentic details. Both light, colours and space have been used to the max to create this pleasant home.

All is bright and airy. The open gallery has stairs leading down to the living  and dining area and to two bedrooms.

The living area has comfortable couches and a welcoming open fire. There is a large panoramic flat screen, to leisurely watch the satellite TV or a DVD, and a B&O music system.
Large sliding doors lead out to the huge front terrace with comfortable furniture and spectacular views.

You feel as if many miles away from civilisation, yet is it only a couple of minutes to the lively whitewashed village
of Gaucin.

The dining table seats eight; it is a great place to dine on an occasionally colder night, with a view on the cosy log fire.

In winter, central heating provides a comfortable warmth.

Every single detail of luxury and comfort has been considered.

The stairs leading up to the master bedroom are a feature in itself, both from design, as from decoration. 

The wall painting reminds one of ancient Greek mythology.

All blends perfectly together.

At the other end of the galley lies the well equipped kitchen.

It offers an American style fridge freezer, 5-ring gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.

From the kitchen large sliding doors lead out onto an shaded terrace overlooking the pool area below.

It has a table seating six and a large grill for cooking.

This is a perfect place for al fresco dining.

Stairs lead from here to the downstairs terrace and the pool.

The master bedroom is located on the first floor.

It has a king size double bed, fitted wardrobes and a sofa.

Doors open to a balcony with a view of the valley.

The en-suite bathroom in rich marble is of Italian design.

It has a basin, large walk-in shower and toilet.

On the ground floor is a bedroom with romantic good sized double bed, and another bedroom with twin beds.

These bedrooms share a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

At the lower floor is another double bedroom with its own en-suite shower room.
Finca Serena is the ideal retreat for a family or group of friends, and is also very comfortable for smaller groups or a couple who like to have lots of space and privacy.
It is a lovely place to enjoy the Andalusian sun at one of the terraces, or near the pool, but also perfect as a base from where to explore the south of Spain with its intriguing cultural heritage, picturesque white villages and of course its many tapas bars.

Location:

Finca Serena is located at a five minutes drive from the white village of Gaucin. Gaucin has all amenities. It is 90 minutes to Malaga airport, and less than 30 minutes to the beaches of the Mediterranean coast.

Surroundings:

Gaucin is a spectacularly beautiful mountain village commanding sweeping views to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of north Africa. Its magnificent castle dates from the time of the Roman settlement, and was later expanded by the Arabs into a fortress. There are numerous remains of ancient civilizations in the area.

Within a 2 hour drive are Seville, Granada and Cordoba. An easy drive away from Gaucin are many famous beaches and golf courses.
