This lovely old country house has been in the same family for generations. All members of the family are very proud of it, and take great care in keeping it up.

The house is set in a magnificent 37 hectares (yes indeed, 370.000 m2!) own land. It has wooded hills and open fields where their cattle grazes, at the backdrop of the lovely Alcornocales Natural Park.

Yet you are close to civilization with the picturesque whitewashed village of Gaucin at only 5 kilometres.

You enter the house through huge antique wooden doors into the large living/dining room.

It has a comfortable seating area centered around a romantic fireplace. In the living area is  satellite TV, and a DVD and CD player. 

All rooms are tastefully decorated; the Master bedroom Suite on the first floor is truly stunning.

The Master Bedroom Suite takes up the whole of the first floor.

It has a romantic double bed, with antique wrought  iron head and footstand.

Furthermore it has a comfortable seating area, with a double sofa.

All beautifully decorated in warm ochre and blue, terracotta tiles and – of course – dark wooden beams.

The views from the Master bedroom Suite are amazing. Beautiful wooded hills of the Alcornocales Natural park as far as the eye can see.

On the ground floor are three romantic double/twin bedrooms.

They share a large bathroom with bath with shower over.

The dining table comfortably seats eight.

The decoration is as it should be: all is in warm coloursettings, with dark wooden beams, comfortable sofa’s and many antiques.

You will find lots of country artifacts everywhere in the house.

The place is steeped with history, and has  beautiful details everywhere.

The kitchen is spacious and very rustic, yet all modern cons have been installed.

It has a four ring ceramic hob, an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster, washing machine, etc.

There are lots of cooking utensils, and there is plenty of china and glasses.

The house offers a large terrace in the sun with two dining tables, in total seating up to ten guests.

For the warmer months you will find a lovely shaded patio at the side of the house.

La Forja Vieja is an oasis of peace and tranquillity amidst the famous Pueblos Blancos.
 
A perfect base for a family from where to explore the area, the natural Parkland or enjoy a day at the Mediterranean beach.

La Forja Vieja is located a few kilometres from the whitewashed village of Gaucin.Gaucin has all important facilities.It is 90 minutes to the airport of Malaga, and less than 30 minutes to the beaches of the Mediterranean coast.

Surroundings:
Gaucin is a spectacularly beautiful mountain village commanding sweeping views to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of north Africa.Its magnificent castle dates from the time of the Roman settlement, and was later expanded by the Arabs into a fortress.

There are numerous remains of ancient civilizations in the area. Within a 2 hour drive are Seville, Granada and Cordoba. At an easy drive from La Forja Vieja are many famous beaches and golf courses.
