When you start out on the dirt track, with cork trees on both sides, leading to La Hoya, you cannot imagine where this path will lead you.

After two miles you will understand though, when you have arrived at this stunning location.

Between Tarifa and Gibraltar, the owner of Cortijo la Hoya has created three lovely cottages on her extensive grounds.

She is mindful about your privacy, but should you ask, she will tell you all about the area.

The garden is full of colourful flowers and fragrant herbs. It has many intimate corners.

The views are breathtaking, the large infinity pool inviting.

A romantic hammock is waiting for you, to cuddle up and relax.

The owner has decorated the cottages with great taste.  She was obviously inspired by the earthy colour  washes of the Mahgreb.

For the decoration she used brightly coloured fabrics and created a warm atmosphere. All three cottages have their own character.

Casa Sol and Casa Luna both have terraces facing the garden, pool and the Ocean.

The terraces are cleverly separated, to ensure optimal privacy.

Both have a small kitchenette, to prepare your breakfast or a simple meal.

Casa Tramontana is the largest of the three. It faces the Alcornocales Park.

This lovely cottage has a private terrace on the ground floor, and a very intimate one on the roof terrace, with gorgeous views on the ocean, the Strait of Gibraltar and the Moroccan Rif mountains.

All three cottages have twin beds in the bedroom, and offer an extra sofa bed in the living room for occasional use.

All have an en-suite bath- or shower room.

The kitchen of Casa Tramontana is somewhat larger than those of the other two cottages.

Cortijo La Hoya is located close to Gibraltar, and at just a 20 minutes drive from the famous town of Tarifa. The nearest airport is Jerez, Malaga Airport is at app. a 1,5 hour drive.

Surrounding area:

Tarifa is famous for its windsurfing, due to the usually strong wind at this part of the Atlantic coast. Tarifa is a cosy and interesting whitewashed town, highly influenced by its Moorish past. The old town pulsates at weekends. Lots of places to eat, drink and dance. The white sandy beaches are superb.

A day trip to Morocco is easy from Tarifa on the Fast Ferry, which crosses the Strait in just 40 minutes.

Close to Cortijo La Hoya are several famous golf courses (San Roque, Almenara, Alcaidesa and Valderrama).
