Finca Pantano is an original Andalusian cottage, exquisitely restored, in an absolutely unique location. Situated in the heart of the famous Grazalema Natural Park, the house has breathtaking views of the Zahara lake and the surrounding peaks of the beautiful Grazalema National Park.

Sitting on the delightful patio at the front of the house, you can even see the ancient Moorish castle of Zahara shimmering in the distance.

Set amidst an old olive grove, the house has its own spreading orchard in which you will find many almond, fig, walnut, orange and other fruit trees.

This is a place to unwind, full of privacy and tranquillity. Here you feel miles away from civilization; yet the delightful hilltop village of Zahara, with its lively centre, bars, restaurants and shops, is only a couple of minutes away.		 FINCA PANTANO secluded yet not isolated
The dramatically positioned town of Ronda on the Tajo gorge, with many remnants of ancient cultures and all modern amenities, is just a 20 minutes ride by car.

Finca Pantano is an excellent base from which to explore the extensive natural parks around Ronda, varying from lovely valleys to rocky mountains, dotted occasionally with some picturesque white villages.		 FINCA PANTANO excellent base from which to explore the Ronda area
Grazalema Natural Park is a Unesco Biosphere reserve, a designated area of special protection for birds. It preserves some very rare species, most impressive are the eagles and giant vultures. From the terraces you will regularly see these high up in the sky.

The fabulous lake lies within walking distance from the cottage and is great for swimming. Since it has remained undiscovered, you will probably have the lake all to yourself.		 Finca Pantano the fabulous lake

When you return to the house in the evening, the patio at the front and at the back are marvellous places to relax.

Imagine sitting out in the open in the warm Andalusian nights, gazing at the distant peaks of Grazalema under the starry skies.

When renovating the house, every effort was made to add modern comfort, without changing the original charm and rustic character of the house.

Here you will find wooden beams and antique wooden doors, giving the house a traditional Spanish appearance.

The warm, earthy colours, the natural timbers and the handmade terracotta-tiled floors all add to the comfortable ambiance.

A wood-burning stove will provide extra warmth on an occasionally cool day, enhancing the cosy, rustic atmosphere. The stove and electric heaters together ensure a comfortable temperature during winter and allow the cottage to be available all year round.

In keeping with the peaceful ambiance of the property, there is no television, but you will find a CD player and a small collection of CD’s. You are invited to bring your favourite romantic CDs.

The kitchen is fully fitted and has been carefully designed using high quality materials.

A microwave, gas stove, large fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and all other necessities are provided.

Upon arrival you will find a bottle of wine and some basics.

Upon request it can be made into two twin beds.

The bathroom with its fiery oxblood walls has a large tiled walk-in shower and classic white fixtures.

Location:

From Ronda it is about 20 minutes by car to Finca Pantano. Ronda has all facilities.

It is fifty minutes to Jerez airport, one hour to Seville, 1,5 hours to the airport of Malaga and to the beaches of the Mediterranean coast or those of the Costa de la Luz.

Surroundings:

Apart from the truly stunning scenery in and around Zahara (Serrania de Ronda, Sierra de las Nieves, Park of Grazalema, Zahara Lake etc.), there are numerous remains of ancient civilizations in the area, see the Zahara castle on the picture, including some of Europe’s most beautiful cave paintings in the Cueva de la Pileta. Ronda’s spectacular Puente Nuevo spans the deep canyon that divides Ronda’s old and ‘new’ quarters, and there are Moorish palaces, Renaissance mansions and Andalusia’s best preserved Arab baths.

Within a hour drive is Seville, within two and a half hours Granada and within two hours Cordoba. Close to Ronda are a series of enchanting ‘white villages’ clinging to spectacular mountain locations. An easy drive away from Finca Pantano are good beaches and golf courses. Even a day trip to Morocco is possible from Tarifa on the Fast Ferry, which crosses the Strait in just forty minutes.
