A well hidden treasure at the entrance of the spectacular white village of Gaucin, La Casita Mosaica offers lots of romance, peace and quiet, and gorgeous views.

Coming from the quiet street, standing in front of an undistinguished facade and big white wall, you hardly expect to find a place like this.  The number in mosaic is the only indication of what lies behind.

Most surprising are the spacious gardens, the romantic pool area and the gorgeous view to the distant mountains. It is hard to believe that you just entered a town house.

Yet a town house it is, with the lively centre of Gaucin with its many bars and shops within easy walking distance.

It is close to some of the best beaches in Europe, many golf courses and all general amenities.

The beautiful mountainous countryside is inviting you to explore on foot or horseback with little disturbance except for a herd of sheep or goats.

The pool is shared with the guests from Casa Mosaica, the house situated at the other end of the garden.

The cottage can either be rented together with the house, or separately.

The pool area is completely walled. It has many pots with fragrant flowering plants, and a mosaic sundial in one wall.

Upon entering the cottage you will instantly feel at home, though in a very different atmosphere. The Moorish style is present in all details.

The hallway has lovely tiles and antique furniture.

To the right you will find the open plan kitchen. The double height used makes the cottage very light and spacious.

The kitchen is fully equipped with double sink, gas hob, electric oven and fridge. The washing machine is in another room.

It has a dining area, but probably you will mostly have your breakfast, lunch and  dinner al fresco, having several nice terraces to choose from.

Opposite the kitchen is the spacious living room. The open fire surrounded by large Moorish sofas is very romantic. The colours are warm and soothing, still the room is very bright and airy.

The living room has satellite TV with UK channels, and DVD. It has fast wireless internet.

Stairs lead from the landing to the romantic bedroom with a queen size double bed, with good quality linen.

It has colourful Moorish rugs and cloth, antique furniture and a built in wardrobe. The views are over the garden and the area to the distant mountains.

The bathroom at the other end of the landing is also Moorish style. It has a bath with heavenly blue stucco, and a separate shower.

Throughout the house you will find many lovely details, inside as well as out.

All these lovely details add to the Moorish atmosphere.

Stairs lead up to a lovely roof terrace which looks out to the distant mountains. It has a large bench with cushions and Moorish cushions to sit on. A lovely place to relax and enjoy the amazing views.

The owner lives next door. She will welcome you upon arrival; she speaks English and Spanish. She can answer all your questions regarding the house and the Gaucin area.
