Rancho Rojo has clearly been created by a sensitive person who loves both the gorgeous nature surrounding the house and the intriguing history of the area.

ere you have great views at every angle. The terrace offers a 360 degree view, and  the pool has been created such  as to enjoy the view even when you are bathing.

The living room has huge windows, and the romantic double bedroom has windows facing the lake, and a terrace to enjoy it. 




Antique wooden doors with brightly coloured stained glass lead in to the airy living area.

 

The house is steeped with lovely authentic details.




Old wooden beams, many authentic details and well chosen furniture all add to the romance of this warm and friendly house.
 


The living room has huge windows, offering a spectacular view on the lake and the Grazalema Natural Park.

It has comfortable sofas and a nice wood burner. For those who wish there is TV (no satellite though), DVD and CD.

The antique round dining table easily seats four.

This is a cosy area, with stylish antique lamps and cabinets with lots of books.

A hand painted antique door leads to a  lavatory.

Opposite the living room is a half open kitchen with many authentic details, like Granada tiles and old beams.

The kitchen offers  all modern comfort though:  a ceramic and gas hob, an electric oven, microwave oven, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and sink. 

Adjacent is a pantry with shelves for storage and washing machine.

 

As everything in this house even the stairs have been carefully decorated.

All through the house you will find numerous interesting artefacts, collected by the owner over many years.

The stairs lead up to the bedrooms on the first floor.

One of the romantic double bedroom is very spacious, with an antique desk and large built- in Moorish style wardrobe.

The comfortable bed is just in front of the window; thus you will wake up to the amazing view. It has a door opening to an intimate balcony.

 

This room has an en-suite bathroom, with bath with shower, double basin and toilet.

The second double bedroom also has a built-in  wardrobe.

The bathroom is next door; it has a large walk-in shower, basin and toilet.  

The enormous terrace to the front of the property looks out over the sloping land around the house, partly planted with olive trees, partly still natural land.

There is a built-in barbecue with gas hob and sink on the terrace in between the covered terrace at the house and the pool.

A great place to dine al fresco, with a view on the lights of Zahara at the other end of the lake and the amazing starry sky above.

A stay at Rancho Rojo is like a trip in itself, discovering all the details of the house, and looking at the ever changing landscape in the light. It will be hard to leave now and then to discover more of the fascinating area…

Location:

This romantic house is situated app. 20 minutes from the famous town of Ronda. Ronda has all facilities.

At a five minutes drive is the friendly whitewashed village of El Gastor, with some small local shops and restaurants. It is one and a half hour drive to the airports of Jerez and Seville, and two hours to the airport of Malaga.

Surrounding area:

This part of Andalucia is famous for its many cultural sites and for its beautiful Natural Parks with an incredible amount of uncommon bird species and wild flowers. It is a paradise for walking, exploring, riding and bird watching.

There are numerous remains of ancient civilizations in the area. Ronda is famous for its spectacular Puente Nuevo that spans the deep canyon that divides Ronda’s old and ‘new’ quarters, and there are Moorish palaces, Renaissance mansions and Andalusia’s best preserved Arab baths. 

The scenery around Ronda is stunning (Serrania de Ronda, Sierra de las Nieves, Park of Grazalema, Zahara lake etc.). In the area you will find numerous remains of ancient civilizations. You can easily make a day trip to Seville or Cadiz, but even Granada and Cordoba would be possible. It is a one hour drive to the beaches of the Mediterranean coast.
