Villa Benitez
At just two kilometres from the little whitewashed village of El Gastor lies Villa Bénitez. A newly built cottage on a very private location. Here you will find tranquillity, comfort and gorgeous views. The cottage easily sleeps six, but is also very suitable as romantic hide-away for two. This is intimacy and romantic seclusion all over.
2-6 persons
The owners of Villa Bénitez have carefully planned the location of their cottage; this is exactly where it had to be, with this impressive peak just behind it.
Villa Bénitez is a very friendly house. Definitely not pretentious, but down to earth and friendly, as are its owners. |

When you arrive at the large parking spot and walk towards the entrance, it feels as if the cottage is welcoming you.
The friendly little patio at the entrance, always sunny, is a cosy place to sit down, relax, and have a chat.
Every detail has been handled with great care; as is shown by the walls around the olive trees at the entrance, that were carefully built by the owner with his own hands, and the many flowering plants around the house. |

The pool area is great: the pool is large and inviting, and the views are stunning.
There are several good quality loungers and an outside shower. You will find another terrace slightly higher up.
You will love the peace and quiet of this place. |

The interior is decorated in a rustic Spanish style.
Many of the items on the walls and spread through the cottage are antiques, that have been in the family for many years: most of these did belong to the parents and grandparents of the owners.
In the living/dining-room there are two comfortable large couches. TV is available, no satellite though.
In the living area as well as in the bedrooms there is airconditioning, enabling you to cool the house in summer and to heat it in winter. |
|
|
There is a cosy open fire. Close to the parking lot you will find a huge amount of fire logs, from which you can take as much as you need, for only a small amount per day.
The dining area, comfortably seating six, is opposite the open plan kitchen.
The kitchen is fully equipped, and all is brand new. It even has a dishwasher. |
|
|
There are two double bedrooms (one has a rather small double bed, the other bed is somewhat larger) and a twin bedroom.
The beds in the twin bedroom can also be moved together to form a double bed.
There is a bathroom with basin, shower, toilet and bidet. |

The valley where Villa Benitez is located has a micro climate. Here it is always slightly warmer than in the surrounding area.
Consequently, you will probably find yourself sitting outside most of the time, enjoying the peace and quiet and the gorgeous views. |

Location:
El Gastor is a pretty white washed village. The villagers are exceptionally friendly. In El Gastor you will find several bars and restaurants and some small village shops (a bakery, fishmongers, butchers and fruit and vegetable shop). A great place is the municipal swimming pool , with a lot of space to relax with gorgeous views over the area. Here is also a restaurant. The village has a small museum dedicated to local arts and crafts, and… to Jose María Hinojosa, \'El Tempranillo\', Andalusia’s most famous bandolero, who was a former resident of the village. Nearby is a dolmen dating back to neolithic times, \'El Dolmen del Gigante\'. The immediate surrounding area is famous for great walking. Very special is the religious celebration of Corpus Christi (June), when the whole village is carefully decorated with flowers and plants. |

Surroundings:
From El Gastor it is about 30 minutes by car to Ronda. Ronda has all facilities. It is only 85 kilometres to the airport of Jerez, and a bit more than an hour’s drive to Seville. Ronda is famous for its spectacular Puente Nuevo that spans the deep canyon that divides Ronda’s old and ‘new’ quarters, and there are Moorish palaces, Renaissance mansions and Andalusia’s best preserved Arab baths.
The scenery around Ronda is stunning (Serrania de Ronda, Sierra de las Nieves, Park of Grazalema, Zahara lake etc.). In the area you will find numerous remains of ancient civilizations. You can easily make a day trip to Seville or Cadiz, but even Granada and Cordoba would be possible.
