Casa el Huerto
In the valley La Ribera, one of the most beautiful areas in Grazalema Natural Park, Casa El Huerto is situated. An extremely secluded place, surrounded by an olive grove and bordered by a little stream. At only  a ten minutes drive from the whitewashed village of Grazalema and half an hour to famous Ronda. This rustic country retreat  is very private and peaceful. A perfect place for walking in the Park, or just relaxing by the pool.
2-10 persons

Casa El Huerto offers its guests impressive panoramic views over the beautiful Grazalema Natural Park. The property is surrounded by a large olive grove, with many other fruit trees.

It is so peaceful, you would almost forget that the whitewashed village of Grazalema, with its cosy central square with many tapas bars and restaurants, is only seven kilometres away.

The bells of sheep or goats, the barking of a dog or braying of a donkey will be the only sounds disturbing the utter silence in this valley.

The terrace offers a breathtaking view over the La Ribera valley and the river that flows through this lush valley.

If you wish to get a feel of life in the Andalusian countryside, this is where to get it.

The property has been carefully renovated and is still very rustic, as it has always been. You will find all the basic elements, like dark wooden beams and terracotta floors. Even the quilts are handmade.

The outdoor areas are well designed. Apart from the sunny terrace in front of the house, there is a covered patio, ideal to dine al fresco on a warm day.

A hundred metres from the house is the spacious pool area, with terracing all around, a and a lawned garden bordered by colourful flowers and flowering shrubs.

A large barbecue area is overlooking the pool and the valley.

On a hot summer day you will love the coolness of this area, which is covered in shade all day by huge leafy trees. It has a stone table and rustic furniture.

The covered patio is the central place of the house.

It connects the two buildings: the one with the living/dining room and kitchen with the other one with the second living room and the three bedrooms.

Being open on both sides, it is a cosy yet spacious and airy place.

To the right of the patio you find the open kitchen and small living / dining room.

It has an open fireplace, couch and rocking chairs and even small children’s chairs in style. It has TV and DVD.

The wooden dining table seating six.

The rustic open plan kitchen and the equipment is basic, yet functional in all aspects.

It has a sink, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer,  oven/ microwave, and dishwasher.

You will find lovely corners to sit and relax everywhere, to read a book or just stare out at the breathtaking views.

At the other side of the patio you enter the second living room.

Amongst the books available are some on the many natural flowers in the area.

There are two double bedrooms (with Spanish double beds, these are smaller than the usual Northern European ones) and one twin bedroom.

There are two bathrooms, with basin, shower (no bathtub)  and toilet.

In one of the bathrooms you also find a washing machine.

At the other end of the barbecue area lies another,  smaller house, Casa El Pajar. During the year  you can rent either Casa El Huerto or Casa El Pajar. When one is rented, the other one will be closed to guarantee your complete privacy.

In high season you can only rent both of them together. El Pajar has two double bedrooms, thus the combined property sleeps up to ten guests.

The orchard surrounding Casa El Huerto is a lovely area to stroll around. Apart from the olive trees, it has many different fruit trees, the fruit of which you may eat if ripe during your stay.

The owner will occasionally provide you with some fresh vegetables from the organic vegetable garden (huerto). You may even see some sheep on the land.

At the lower end is the lovely little stream that borders the land.

From Ronda it is about 30 minutes by car to Casa El Huerto. Ronda has all facilities.

Ronda’s spectacular Puente Nuevo spans the deep canyon that divides Ronda’s old and ‘new’ quarters, and there are Moorish palaces, Renaissance mansions and Andalusia’s best preserved Arab baths.

Within a 2 hour drive are Seville, Granada and Cordoba. And close to Ronda are a series of enchanting ‘white villages’ clinging to spectacular mountain locations. An easy drive away are good beaches and golf courses.
