El Balcon de Lijar
El Balcon de Lijar takes its name from its spectacular location: it is situated at an elevated position, overlooking the valley of the Lijar near Ronda. The panoramic view goes all the way up to the far away Grazalema mountains and the lake of Zahara on one side, and to the whitewashed Pueblo Blanco Olvera on the other. A very private house, in a rural setting amidst Natural Parks, famous cities with lots of heritage and whitewashed Moorish villages. A great place to explore the area or to relax at the pool.

| The views from El Balcon de Lijar go miles and miles into all directions. No wonder it is called the balcony. On one side you have the wide valley with the city of Olvera in the distance, towering on a hill, on the other the lovely lake of Zahara de la Sierra, at the backdrop of the Grazalema mountains. Here you have lots of privacy, there is no other house around, the house and the pool area are not overlooked at all. The area around El Balcon de Lijar is vey quiet and peaceful. |

| The pool area is magnificent. The pool is quite large (9m x 6m, up to 2,5m deep), and its shallow end enables you to enter it easily. The outdoor areas are very spacious, wide and open, thus you can enjoy the great views from wherever you wish to sit down and relax. There are plenty of sun beds and parasols. The pool terrace also offers a large brick built barbecue, and a dining table seating six guests. |

| Next to the house is a lovely covered terrace with a dining table comfortably seating six. This shady terrace next to the kitchen is perfect for an al fresco dinner. It offers amazing views. The living area has two comfortable couches and a romantic open fire for cooler evenings. The house has central heating and air-conditioning. It has satellite TV and internet. |

| Here you also find a dining table seating six – although in this mild climate you will probably usually prefer to dine al fresco. The open plan kitchen is fully fitted, all is brand new. It has a four ring ceramic hob, double sink, microwave, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and a washing machine. |

| A hallway leads to the bedrooms. At the far end is a lovely double bedroom with en suite shower room. It has a large wardrobe, with plenty of space for your belongings. |

| The bathroom is tastefully decorated in pale blue and marble with copper details. |

| Next to the double bedroom is a bright room with a single bed, perfect for a child – or two. An extra bed is hidden underneath, and can easily be added. This room also has a large wardrobe. |

| The last bedroom has twin beds. And again a large wardrobe. All rooms are good sized, and all beds have good mattresses. |

| These two bedrooms share a large bathroom with a large bath with shower over, basin, toilet, bidet. All is tastefully decorated, fresh and new. Downstairs is a large area that is made in to a fitness room, with all kinds of fitness equipment. Here you will also find a table tennis table, and four brand new bicycles, all for the use by the guests. |

| Location: El Balcon de Lijar is situated app. 20 minutes from the famous town of Ronda. Ronda has all facilities. At a ten minutes drive is the friendly whitewashed village of El Gastor, with some small local shops and restaurants. It is one and a half hour drive to the airports of Jerez and Seville, and two hours to the airport of Malaga. Surrounding area: This part of Andalucia is famous for its many cultural sites and for its beautiful Natural Parks with an incredible amount of uncommon bird species and wild flowers. It is a paradise for walking, exploring, riding and bird watching. |

| Ronda is famous for its spectacular Puente Nuevo that spans the deep canyon that divides Ronda’s old and ‘new’ quarters, and there are Moorish palaces, Renaissance mansions and Andalusia’s best preserved Arab baths. The scenery around Ronda is stunning (Serrania de Ronda, Sierra de las Nieves, Park of Grazalema, Zahara lake etc.). In the area you will find numerous remains of ancient civilizations. You can easily make a day trip to Seville or Cadiz, but even Granada and Cordoba would be possible. It is a one hour drive to the beaches of the Mediterranean coast. |
