Finca Bonilla
Perched halfway up a hillside in plain view of the Mediterranean, Finca Bonilla has the true feel of authentic inland Andalucia. A large finca, built in three wings around a lovely courtyard in the traditional Andalusian style. This is a true family home away from home, with breathtaking views at only a stone throw from the sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol.
6-16 persons
| Finca Bonilla is a large authentic farmhouse that has been carefully renovated by its Dutch owners. They have made this farm into a true family home. Its distribution makes it an ideal place for two families travelling together, or for a larger group. All is tastefully decorated, yet in a rather sturdy no-nonsense style. |
| Finca Bonilla is set in 10.000 m2 private land amidst old olive and almonds trees. It is a very quiet and peaceful place, almost incredible so close to the busy coast. From the pool area you have breathtaking views of the deep blue Mediterranean Sea framed by rugged mountains. |
| Finca Bonilla is located amidst some small mountain villages near Rincon de la Victoria. This typical Spanish coastal town is not at all full of tourists, quite contrary to the image many of us have of Costa del Sol. It has a long sandy beach and a lively promenade with many restaurants. |
| The nearest small village is at only 4 km. It is a 15 minutes drive to the beach, and half an hour to Malaga. Through the large antique doors you enter the traditional enclosed courtyard with fragrant orange trees. This is a perfect place to enjoy an al fresco meal. Part of the day it offers cool shade, which is very pleasant on a warm day. |
| Leading from the house to the pool terrace you will find a wonderful covered terrace, from which you have sweeping sea views. It has brick built barbecue. The pool is a good size: 3m x 6m, the depth goes from 1-2 meters. The lovely pool area has all the accessories, like sun beds and sunshades, for a perfect day under the Andalusian sun. |
| The house offers a huge open plan living and dining room, and an open plan kitchen – in total a surface of app. 100 m2. All is spacious and bright, and has obviously been designed to really live in: it has plenty of large sofas, a cosy fireplace, a TV and DVD player. |
| The dining table is made of massive, sturdy wood. You will probably not use this often to dine though, since you can choose from several outdoors dining tables for al fresco dining. |
| The open plan kitchen is well equipped. It has a double sink, large gas stove, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine. You will find all utilities like coffeemaker and kettle. |
| The bedrooms are divided over the two wings that lead off the living and dining area. The house has 7 bedrooms in total that sleep up to 16 guests. The tower room in the first wing has a double bed with its own en-suite shower room. |
| In this wing you will find downstairs one more double bedroom with an extra single bed, and two more bedrooms with twin beds. These three rooms share a shower room with basin and large walk-in shower. |
| The second bedroom wing is a exactly the same as the first one, only this one has no tower room. The decoration of all bedrooms and bathrooms is more or less the same, however all rooms are made in a different colour setting. |

| Location: Finca Bonilla is located in the hills just above the coast near Malaga, close to Rincon de la Victoria. The last 1,5 km to the house is a single track country lane. The nearest village is at 4 km, and has some shops, a pharmacy and restaurants. The nearest restaurant is at 2 km. It is half an hour drive to the airport of Malaga (45 km). |
| Surroundings: The nearby town of Rincon de la Victoria (at 9 km) is very different from what most of us know of the Costa del Sol. This small town is not at all flooded by tourists, and offers a lovely beach and a promenade with many restaurants. It has a large shopping mall. Malaga is half an hour away, and is really worthwhile. The Picasso museum is wonderful. You can easily have a taste of the cultural heritage of the area: the famous Pueblos Blancos (white villages) in the Alpujarras are only 70 km away and the ‘Kings’ cities’ (Seville, Cordoba and Granada, with the famous Alhambra) are at a one to two hours drive. The famous caves with stalactites and the "Balcon de Europa" in Nerja are at 40 km, the wonderful El Torcal Natural Park at 60km. |
