Just below the spectacular white village of Gaucin, tucked into the hill, we found La Herradura. The villa is completely hidden.

La Herradura is superbly appointed and extremely comfortable. It is definitely secluded, with its own large pool and Jacuzzi, but in no way isolated.

It is within easy walking distance of the village and close to some of the best beaches in Europe, famous golf courses and general amenities.

The beautiful mountainous countryside can be explored on foot or horseback with little disturbance except for a herd of sheep or goats.

La Herradura is located on the grounds of El Nobo, a beautiful Spanish villa. It is reached by its own driveway through the magnificent garden.

Once arrived at La Herradura, it is hard to believe that the main house El Nobo and the cottage La Bumba are just a short walk from here.

The interior combines the old Spanish and Moorish decoration, many antiques and  artefacts, with the most modern installations, like under floor heating and insulation.

The house has an unusual amount of living space.

The main living area has a large fireplace and French windows leading onto the long south terrace.

The living is abutted by the dining and kitchen area which has its own open-fire grill and larder.

The house has two spacious bedrooms, with large built in cupboards and adjoining fully equipped bathrooms with separate showers.

The master bedroom has French windows onto the main terrace.

The large terrace is facing due south.

In addition to this there is an east facing breakfast terrace.

Steps from the full length wide terrace form an amphitheatre to the sloping garden and the pool area.

Water from the cascade tumbles down a rock face into the 35m2 infinity pool which is surrounded by a sunbathing terrace and a covered patio.

The views to Gibraltar and the mountains of Africa are amazing.

The sumptuous Jacuzzi built into its own gazebo a few steps from the main terrace is a unique feature.

This is a wonderful place to relax.

La Herradura is within easy walking distance from the white village of Gaucin. Gaucin has all important facilities.

It is 90 minutes to the airport of Malaga, and less than 30 minutes to the beaches of the Mediterranean coast.

Surroundings:

Gaucin is a spectacularly beautiful mountain village commanding sweeping views to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of north Africa.

Its magnificent castle dates from the time of the Roman settlement, and was later expanded by the Arabs into a fortress.

There are numerous remains of ancient civilizations in the area.

Within a 2 hour drive are Seville, Granada and Cordoba. At an easy drive from La Herradura are many famous beaches and golf courses.
