Information on the Rentals

Arrival and Departure
The standard arrival time is between 16.00 and 18.00 hrs, usually on the Saturday, unless it is stated differently in the Specific House Information. Departure usually is 11.00 latest. Please do inform Vida Rústica at least 24 hours in advance of your expected arrival time. Occasionally a different arrival or departure time can be agreed upon.

We strongly advise our guests to choose an early flight. Thus you really have a holiday already on the day of arrival and have an extra day to enjoy. U can travel easy during the daytime, and will be able to enjoy the lovely views on your way.

To arrive in the dark is extremely unpleasant, especially since many of our properties are located in the ‘campo’, sometimes even in a Natural Park. In these areas you will not have any illumination to guide you, and it may be very hard to find your way in the dark.

Moreover the house owner or house manager has to welcome you and let you in. Since most of them do not live near the property that you have rented, you can hardly expect from them to wait for you for hours if you have a late arrival, unless you have made explicit arrangements upon booking.

In case your flight might have a delay (which does happen rather often nowadays) it is of the utmost importance to get in touch as soon as possible with the number that you will find at the bottom of the route description in your Information Pack (either with the house manager directly, or with Vida Rústica) to ensure that you will be able to enter the house upon arrival.

Directions
You will find detailed directions to the house in the information package that you will receive once your booking is confirmed and secured by payment of the deposit.

Specific House Information
Some accommodations have specific additional house rules. These are mentioned in the Specific House Information. Please read these carefully before booking, as these are an integral part of the Terms and Conditions.
In most accommodations you will find a file with extra information on the house and the area. Usually this will also include details on shopping, restaurants, important phone numbers like those of fire brigade, police, doctor, hospital etc.

Linen
In all houses towels, bed linen, pillows and blankets or duvets are provided. For a stay of two weeks or more the linen will be changed once a week; this service is included in the rental price.  Some houses change the linen more often; please check the Specific House Information.

Gas, water and electricity
Water is very scarce in Andalusia and it should be used with that in mind. Please do not use more than what you need for a comfortable stay. Due to the long draughts in Andalusia, water supply can unfortunately be interrupted or have a low pressure from time to time.
Like the water supply the electricity is sometimes interrupted too. Vida Rústica cannot be held responsible for this. Please have patience, however when it does not restart automatically after a while please inform the house manager. Water and electricity are very expensive in Andalucia. Please do not use more than you need for a comfortable stay.
In case the house has an open fire or wood burner, during the colder months you will find a small stock of firewood upon arrival, for the first day or so. Additional firewood can usually be purchased from the house manager.

Cleaning
Final cleaning is included in the rental sum. You are requested however to leave the house tidy and do the dishes before you leave.

Breakage deposit
Some house owners require a breakage deposit. This is mentioned in the house price table. The breakage deposit will be charged in addition to the rental price. The deposit is payable together with the balance of the rental sum 6 weeks before the rent period latest. If no damages are found when checking the accommodation after your departure, the deposit will be refunded in full within 14 days after your departure.

Kitchens
All kitchen are equipped for the maximum number of people mentioned in the price list. All have sufficient cutlery, china and pans. Some typical Northern European devices (such as a kettle, electric coffee machine or kitchen cloth) may be absent; if a Spanish substitute exists you will find this though.  Some houses have a only small breakfast-kitchen, not suitable for cooking. This is mentioned in the Specific House Information.

Swimming pool
The safety of the children and other guests using the pool is the client’s responsibility. Children should never be left without supervision in the pool area.
The pool are usually not heated and can be used in principle from April up to October. Most are kept clean all year, however if you wish to be 100% certain, please enquire for other periods.

Animals
Not all accommodations welcome pets. Please check the specific House Information. If you plan to bring your pet, please make sure to always make an explicit arrangement for this upon booking.

Small children
Most Family Houses do have specific for small children, like a cot or high chair. Usually you can use these at no extra charge. In case you might like to use any of these facilities, please inform us upon booking, then we will make sure this will be arranged for in advance.

The ‘campo’
Many of the properties that we have selected for you are located in the ‘campo’, that is, outside of the urban area’s, in lovely natural areas. In the campo you will usually not hear many human noise ( and with that we do not mean just voices, but radio’s, cars, trains, etc). Please do realise however that it is never soundless in the campo: almost everywhere you will hear dogs barking, or donkey’s, goats and roosters. These sounds belong to the campo, and are part of this world that is so different : the untouched, authentic inland of Andalucia.
