Please inform Vida Rústica as soon as possible of your expected arrival time. Check-in is usually between 16.00 and 18.00 hrs, usually on the Saturday. Occasionally a different arrival or departure time can be agreed upon during the booking process. Please note: if you inform Vida Rústica less than 48 hours before your arrival of your expected arrival time, there might be no one available to let you in.
We strongly advise our guests to choose an early flight. Thus you really have a holiday already on the day of arrival and have an extra day to enjoy. You can travel easy during the daytime, and will be able to enjoy the lovely views on your way.
To arrive in the dark is extremely unpleasant, especially since many of our properties are located in the ‘campo’, sometimes even in a Natural Park. In these areas you will not have any illumination to guide you, and it may be very hard to find your way in the dark.
Moreover the house owner or house manager has to welcome you and let you in. Since most of them do not live near the property that you have rented, you can hardly expect from them to wait for you for hours if you have a late arrival, unless you have made explicit arrangements upon booking.
If your flight is delayed you must call the house manager as soon as possible. You can find the number at the bottom of the route description in your Information Pack. If this is not possible please call your contact at Vida Rústica, then we can ensure that you will be able to enter the house upon arrival.
Departure usually is 10.00 latest, unless it is stated differently in the details on the Villa page.
You will find detailed directions to the house in the information package that you will receive once your booking is confirmed and secured by payment of the deposit.
Some accommodations have specific additional house rules. These are mentioned in the details on the Villa page. Please read these carefully before booking, as these are an integral part of the Terms and Conditions. In most villas you will find a file with extra information on the villa and the area. Usually this will also include details on shopping, restaurants, important phone numbers like those of fire brigade, police, doctor, hospital etc.
In all villas towels, bed linen, pillows and blankets or duvets are provided. For a stay of two weeks or more the linen will be changed once a week; this service is included in the rental price. Some villas change the linen more often; please check the details on the Villa page.
Final cleaning is included in the rental sum. You are requested to leave the villa tidy, do the dishes and dispose of the garbage.
Most Family Villas do have specific items for small children, like a cot or high chair. Usually you can use these at no extra charge. In case you might like to use any of these facilities, please inform us upon booking, then we will make sure this will be arranged for in advance.
All kitchens are equipped for the maximum number of people mentioned in the price list. All have sufficient cutlery, china and pans. Some typical Northern European devices (such as a kettle, electric coffee machine or kitchen cloth) may be absent; if a Spanish substitute exists you will find this though. Some houses have a only small breakfast-kitchen, not suitable for cooking. This is mentioned in the details on the Villa page.
Use of water, gas and electricity is included in the rental price, unless it is stated explicitly in the Pricelist. In case the villa has an open fire or wood burner, during the colder months you will find a small stock of firewood upon arrival, for the first day or so. Additional firewood can usually be purchased from the house manager. Water is very scarce in Andalusia and it should be used with that in mind. Please do not use more than what you need for a comfortable stay. Electricity and water supply can occasionally be interrupted. Please have patience. Vida Rústica cannot be held responsible for this.
The safety of the children and other guests using the pool is the client’s responsibility. Children should never be left without supervision in the pool area. The pools are usually not heated and can be used in principle from April up to October. Most are kept clean all year, however if you wish to be 100% certain, please enquire for other periods.
Not all accommodations welcome pets. Please check the details on the Villa page. If you plan to bring your pet, please make sure to always make an explicit arrangement for this upon booking.
Many of the properties that we have selected for you are located in the ‘campo’, that is, outside of the urban area’s, in lovely natural areas. Please do realise that it is never quiet in the campo: almost everywhere you will hear dogs barking, or donkey’s, goats and roosters, sometimes agricultural machines. These sounds belong to the campo, and are part of this world that is so different: the untouched, authentic inland of Andalucia.
During the summer months (from May up to October) use of a BBQ is prohibited by law in the campo in Andalucía, because of the high risk of fire in this area of natural beauty. Penalties are severe for contravening the BBQ ban. Some houses provide electric hot plates instead.
Some of the villas offer WIFI; if they do this is mentioned in the details on the Villa page. Please note that the use of internet in Spain is limited. Please do not use streaming media. There is enough data available to view some internet pages and check your e-mails, even to Skype. Turn off your webcam and compress pictures before you send them.
Some house owners require a breakage deposit. This is mentioned in the villa price table. The breakage deposit will be charged in addition to the rental price. The deposit is payable together with the balance of the rental sum 6 weeks before the rent period latest. If no damages are found when checking the villa after your departure the deposit will be refunded in full within 14 days after your departure.
